Coronavirus Cleaning to Protect Your Office Building
Coronavirus cases are rapidly increasing with each passing day – and as the pandemic continues, it’s crucial to keep office staff safe. At Onedesk, we’re committed to achieving the clean, safe environment your team needs to continue its operations.
We’re working hard to protect our local offices from further transmission. We’re also happy to help new clients keep their teams safe by cleaning and sanitizing their offices. In addition to our standard, high-quality cleaning services, we’re now providing deep cleaning to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
The CDC’s recent publication shows businesses and employers how to plan and respond to Coronavirus. Our cleaners are familiar with this advice and only use disinfectants that have been deemed effective by the EPA’s Emerging Pathogen Standard.
While no cleaning products can claim to kill the notorious Coronavirus strain, COVID-19, our cleaners’ products meet the EPA’s standards. Based on previous strains, our cleaning products are likely effective at combating this virus.
Office Space Sanitization During the Coronavirus Outbreak
Onedesk follows all OSHA regulations and adheres to the CDC’s recommendations for businesses and employers. Since the virus is still new, we’re closely checking CDC guidelines to ensure we’re using the latest procedures for sanitizing workplaces.
Here’s how we’re keeping workplaces safe with sanitization:
- We routinely clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces (hotspots) throughout the workplace. This includes workstations, keyboards, telephones, handrails, and doorknobs.
- Any time we see a dirty surface, we’re using a combination of detergent or soap with water before disinfection.
- To disinfect, we have our cleaners use products that are EPA-approved for use against the virus. The list of cleaning products our cleaners use is available here.
- In addition to using the EPA’s list of approved cleaning products, we’re following manufacturers’ instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products. This includes guidance regarding the appropriate concentration, application method, contact time, and more.
Before Hiring a Disinfecting Service for Coronavirus
The pandemic is worrisome. But that’s no reason to hire an office cleaning company without performing your due diligence.
While you don’t have to be a disinfection expert, you can conduct some research to ensure the service you choose is using the most effective cleaning methods available.
A little research goes a long way to ensure you get a fair price, as well. Through our research, we’ve noticed some cleaners charging around 12 times what others charge – for the same service!
These unethical practices result in thousands of dollars in price gouging. Unfortunately, crises don’t always bring out the best in people, so we suggest comparing prices to ensure you’re not overpaying.
3 Tips to Keep Your Office Space Safe From Coronavirus
Once we provide a deep cleaning service, you’ll still need to actively prevent Coronavirus from becoming an issue in your office space. Here’s a list of suggestions we offer our clients to ensure they get the most out of our services and stay safe during the pandemic:

1. Invest in individual workspaces
Encourage office staff to work remotely. This could involve investing in personal laptops, tablets, and smartphones to ensure they have the right tools to work from home. Video conferencing can easily replace most office interactions.
Design your office space to keep staff spread out throughout the office. While working from home is best, a spacious office design can help by limiting the amount of contact people in your office have with each other.

2. Commit to a regular cleaning plan
While a deep clean is excellent for Coronavirus prevention, you should still have a plan in place for regular cleaning. If your office staff is still coming into the office, make sure to regularly disinfect anything that could be contaminated.
Some of the most important spaces to disinfect are the hotspots throughout the office. These include the refrigerator, copy machines, doorknobs, and anything else that’s touched by multiple people each day.

3. Have sanitizer readily available
Having hand sanitizer everywhere might seem like overkill, but it’s one of the best ways to keep your office safe. From the conference room to the reception desk and other shared spaces, make sure to have some complimentary hand sanitizer available for your office staff and visitors.
Fun fact: We recently did a study on the hand sanitizer market, and compiled statistics. In that study we learned that the hand sanitizer market is worth more than $3 billion.

Onedesk currently offers deep cleaning services for offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New York City, and St. Louis. Whether you’re a new client looking for assistance during the pandemic or one of our regular clients interested in increasing your COVID-19 prevention practices, we’re here to help.
For offices currently operating, we recommend getting a deep cleaning at least once per week. If your office is closed, we recommend at least one full deep clean before ANYONE returns to the workplace.
